An after-dark storytelling tour exploring the haunted history of the Denver Botanic Gardens, based on true staff experiences and security encounters.
Ghosts in the Gardens returns to the Denver Botanic Gardens this October, running from October 20 and again from October 28 through 31. It's an after-dark storytelling tour that takes the Gardens in a different direction than they go by day, leaning on the haunting history of the land at York Street. Before the Gardens took root, the site was known as 'The Boneyard,' where unmarked graves once stood.
The experience works on real history rather than invented scares. Storytellers share true staff experiences and security guard encounters with the unexplained, and you can move between them in any order you like, with new stories beginning every fifteen minutes. The walk takes about 90 minutes and includes the main floor of the historic Beaux-Arts Waring House, which is said to hold its own secrets. Children 12 and over are welcome, but Halloween masks and costumes aren't permitted, and no recording is allowed.
