Annual meeting of the Geological Society of America with approximately 9,000 attendees, featuring professional growth and cooperative research in geoscience.
The Geological Society of America is bringing its annual meeting to the Colorado Convention Center from October 11 to 14, 2026. It's a big one—around 9,000 people are expected to roll into downtown Denver over those four days.
If you're not familiar with the organization, the Geological Society of America (GSA) has been around since 1888. It's a global scientific society with members from academia, government, and industry in more than 100 countries, and it's headquartered right here in Colorado, in Boulder. The annual meeting is their main event, and this year it lands in Denver.
What they do is pretty broad. Through its meetings, publications, and programs, GSA works to support the professional growth of geoscientists and encourage cooperative research among earth, life, planetary, and social scientists. They also foster public dialogue on geoscience issues and promote the geosciences in the service of humankind. The meeting is where a lot of that happens in person—people presenting their work, sharing research, and talking through the latest in the field.
