Jazz and hip-hop musician Kiefer presents his Blue Note album Memory Bomb at the renowned Dazzle venue.
Kiefer plays Dazzle on Tuesday, October 13, presenting his Blue Note album Memory Bomb. It's a single-bill night, so the focus stays on him throughout.
Kiefer is a Los Angeles musician who calls his style 'Over The Breaks,' a term he took from a J Dilla track to describe artists who push boundaries. He grew up in San Diego with parents who were both aerospace engineers and pianists, and he studied jazz piano at UCLA, where Blue Note legend Kenny Burrell became his tutor. He signed to Stones Throw Records and has collaborated with Dr. Dre, De La Soul, Pete Rock, Anderson .Paak, Kaytranada and Terrace Martin, before joining Blue Note Records in 2021 and releasing Memory Bomb with the collective FATHERS.
Dazzle has been named one of the 'Top 120 Jazz Clubs in the World' by DownBeat magazine since 2004 and was voted 'Best Late-Night Jazz' and 'Best Blues Venue' by Westword readers. It's located in The Arts Complex at 1080 14th St. in Denver.
