Dinosaur Jr. perform their album Sweep It Into Space live at the Ogden Theatre in Denver.
Dinosaur Jr. play the Ogden Theatre on Thursday, October 29, at 8 PM. They're touring Sweep It Into Space, their most recent album, which came out in 2021 on Jagjaguwar Records.
If you're not familiar with the name, the trio started in 1984 and spent the late eighties bringing crashing lead-guitar textures back to indie rock. Guitarist J Mascis pushed volume and attack to the front of his songs, moving past the strict limitations of early-eighties hardcore and becoming an influence on the grunge movement that followed. Their first three albums—Dinosaur, You're Living All Over Me, and Bug—became cult masterpieces. The original lineup of Mascis, Lou Barlow on bass, and Murph on drums reformed in 2005 for select live dates, and critics claimed those shows were even better than before. Since then, they've put out five studio albums, with Sweep It Into Space being the latest.
