Sunday morning trail run for Denver Trail Runners on Metro trails, suitable for all ages.
Denver Trail Runners are heading back to the Metro foothill / mountain trails this Sunday, October 18, for their Sunday Long Run. It's a free run that kicks off on Sunday morning, and the whole thing usually takes about an hour and a half to two hours.
The Sunday Long Run is a regular part of the club's schedule, and it's built around a simple idea: get your miles in early so you can earn the rest of your Sunday. If you're used to spending your weekend mornings on the couch, this is the kind of thing that flips that aroundβyou're out on the trails while most people are still waking up, and by the time you're done, you've got the rest of the day to yourself.
It's not the only thing the club does. They also put on a Tuesday Mellow Run at Deer Creek Canyon Park, which is aimed at newer trail runners so that nobody is gasping to keep up. Then there's the Thursday Evening Run in the foothills, which sets off around 6:15 PM, lasts about 60 to 75 minutes, and is followed by dinner. Between the three, you can get a decent amount of trail time in during the week without having to plan a whole trip.
