A weekly trail running event for the Denver Trail Runners club, covering 1.5 to 2 hours on mountain trails.
Denver Trail Runners are heading back into the foothills this Sunday, October 11, for their Sunday Long Run. It's a free run that usually gets underway at 8 AM and lasts about an hour and a half to two hours, so you're back in the city and done with your miles before the rest of the day has even really started.
The location changes every week, so you'll want to check the latest announcement for where this one is meeting. The runs take place on the metro foothill and mountain trails around Denver, and since the trail changes each Sunday, you'll get a different stretch of the foothills every time you go.
This is part of the club's weekly series, and it's built for people who treat Sunday as a training day rather than a rest dayβthe kind of morning where you'd rather earn the rest of your Sunday on the trails than spend it on the couch. If you're looking for something a bit more low-key, the club also hosts a Tuesday Mellow Run at Deer Creek Canyon Park, which they describe as being for newer trail runners so that nobody is gasping to keep up. There's also a Thursday Evening Run in the foothills that sets off at 6:15 PM, covers about 60 to 75 minutes, and is followed by dinner.
