Third year of the Denver Sketch Festival, showcasing original sketch comedy from troupes across North America at RISE Comedy, with live shows and video sketches.
RISE Comedy is hosting the third Denver Sketch Festival from October 8 to 10, bringing original sketch comedy from troupes across North America to the Main Stage. It's a few days of back-to-back shows, with the festival running Thursday through Saturday. On Thursday and Friday, there are four shows each night at 7, 8, 9, and 10 PM. Saturday adds a fifth, with sets starting at 6 PM and running through 10 PM.
Saturday night is where you'll find the most variety in one go. At 7 PM, Philadelphia's Septar—formed from fans of Rugrats and SEPTA—shares the bill with New York's Fever Dream. The 8 PM slot belongs to Simple Town, a New York group that sold out its run at the 2025 Edinburgh Fringe; they blend tight written premises with sharp ensemble riffing, and their videos have appeared on Adult Swim, Comedy Central, and Cracked. The 9 PM show is a double bill: Jordan Moeller brings Whispers on the Adriatic, and Avery & Sabrina perform Avery & Sabrina are Dead!.
Those two are quite different. Moeller's show follows a 14th-century Venetian shipwright on a perilous quest across the Adriatic, mixing sketch, physical theatre, clown, and rapid-fire character comedy. Avery & Sabrina's piece is a spiritual successor to their award-winning debut, built around existential dread and quantum mechanics, drawing from Waiting for Godot, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, and The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.

Beyond the live shows, the festival includes an Ultra Short Film Festival where video sketches play throughout the run, and sketch-writing workshops and intensives are open to the public. Tickets are $35, and the festival runs at RISE Comedy, 1260 22nd St, Denver, CO 80205.
