Concert by David Wimbish & The Collection and Raynes, co-headlining 'The Heavy Radio Tour' at the Federal Theatre.
David Wimbish & The Collection play the Federal Theatre on Thursday, October 15, as part of 'The Heavy Radio Tour.' They're co-headlining with Raynes, a British-American trio. The Denver date was moved to the Federal Theatre after the original venue sold out, so it's a bigger room than first planned.
For Wimbish, this is a return to a more organic, song-focused sound after a decade as a band. Now based in Richmond, Virginia, the singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist wrote and recorded Heavy Love almost entirely on his own in a studio he built in his parents' North Carolina home in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. He worked with producer Marshall Altman and cut the songs entirely live in the studio, and he describes the music as driven by stomp-and-holler energy and deeply personal storytelling.
Raynes share the bill. The trio came together when North Dakota natives Mat Charley and Joe Berger discovered UK singer Mark Race on Instagram, and Race moved to the US to start the band. Signed to Sony Music Publishing, they've released six singles and four EPs, drawing tens of millions of streams and press in Billboard and People, and played BottleRock Festival 2025.
