Professional ice hockey match between the Colorado Avalanche and the Seattle Kraken at Ball Arena.
The Colorado Avalanche take on the Seattle Kraken at Ball Arena on Saturday, January 8, 2027. It's a regular-season matchup between two teams from the Western Conference, with the Avalanche playing on home ice here in Denver.
For anyone who doesn't follow the league closely, the Avalanche are the home team, and the Kraken are visiting from Seattle. It's a standard NHL game, so you'll get the full three periods of hockey. If it's tied at the end of regulation, it goes to overtime and then a shootout if that doesn't settle it. The puck drops at 4 PM, which is a bit earlier than the usual night game, so it's more of a late-afternoon affair than a late-night one.

Since it's at Ball Arena, you're right in the middle of the city, and you'll have the whole arena crowd behind the Avs. If you're planning to go, keep in mind that 4 PM start—it's early enough that you'll still be out and about for dinner afterward, and you won't be staying up half the night to see the finish. The game is on Saturday, January 8, 2027, at 4 PM at Ball Arena in Denver.
