Indie pop duo Cherokee Social returns to their hometown for a homecoming show at Lost Lake Lounge, supported by Stovetop Gemini.
Cherokee Social play Lost Lake Lounge on Friday, November 20, with Stovetop Gemini opening. It's a homecoming show for them — they're in the middle of a 50-date US tour, and this is the Denver stop.
If you're just getting caught up, Cherokee Social is an indie pop duo that formed here in 2023. The singer, Julian Navarro, has been playing drums since he was three and spent years in the Baltimore music scene, where he almost signed three separate times before moving to Denver and rebranding his project from Faceless Ones to Cherokee Social. He teamed up with guitarist Alex Creighton, and the two sold out their first headlining Denver show in January 2024. Since then, they've shared stages with Macy Gray and Fitz and the Tantrums.
Last summer they spent six weeks on a West Coast tour, and that run inspired their first EP, The Garden. Their latest single, "Maya," came out on September 26, so it's fresh on the setlist. They describe their sound as "old waves meet new ways," and this show is a chance to hear it live in the city where they started.
