A local farmers market featuring Colorado-grown produce, artisan goods, prepared foods and live music in the heart of Central Park.
The Central Park Farmers Market is wrapping up its season at Founders Green on Sunday, October 11, the final day of a run that started back on June 21. It's held at the South Green, 7601 29th Ave, in the heart of Central Parkโthe neighborhood built on the site of the old Stapleton International Airport.
If you've been before, you know the deal: it's run by the Central Park Master Community Association and managed by Jarman & Co Events, and they stick to a strict local-sourcing rule. Almost everything sold has to be grown, raised, or produced in Colorado or a bordering county. That keeps the focus on the region, and it's why you'll find multi-generational Colorado farms selling certified organic produce, a Palisade fruit stand, and a gourmet mushroom grower. There's also a solar-powered mobile coffee cart, prepared foods, artisan goods, and live music from local Denver musicians.
The area still carries the imprint of its airport past, most notably Little Man Ice Cream, a kiosk built beneath a replica wing of a Lockheed Constellation airliner salvaged from the old Stapleton runway. Nearby, the neighborhood is shifting: a Wayfair store is taking over the former Macy's at Northfield, a Trader Joe's is going up next to Old Navy, and a Whole Foods is under construction.
