Folk band Buffalo Traffic Jam performs live at the Ogden Theatre in Denver, with special guest Elias Hix.
Buffalo Traffic Jam play the Ogden Theatre on Saturday, December 19, with Elias Hix opening. They're a folk band from Bozeman, Montana, started by Frankie Cassidy and Nathan Ross, who first crossed paths as students at Montana State University. Their self-titled debut EP led to the singles "Rescue Me" and "Forgot Your Roots," and it was that second one that landed them their first record deal with Arista Records.
Their sound is built on rich harmonies and stripped-down instrumentation rooted in folk traditions, but given a modern emotional edge. 2025 brought two more singles, "Strangers Now" and "Milestone," and their first festival appearances at Under the Big Sky and Red West Festival, before they went out on tour with country singer-songwriter Dylan Gossett. Their newest release, the Take Me Home EP, has picked up over 8 million streams across DSPs and shows a deeper, more expansive sound than the early records.
Between the debut EP, the singles, and the new EP, there's enough material here to pull from across their whole run so far. The set will likely lean on the Take Me Home songs, but with the older singles in the mix, you'll get a good sense of where they started and where they've gone since those college days in Bozeman.
