Pop rock band Broadside perform live at the Ogden Theatre in Denver.
Broadside are playing the Ogden Theatre on Sunday, December 14, their only Denver date this winter. They're a pop rock band from Richmond, Virginia, and they've spent the last decade carving out their own space in the scene by drawing from The Killers, AFI, Kings of Leon, and Taking Back Sunday. If you've never heard them, that's a pretty clear map of where they sit: the big hooks of the early 2000s indie and emo records, with a bit of that stadium-ready energy mixed in.
They're touring behind Nowhere, At Last, released through Thriller Records. It's a record the band describes as more grounded and self-aware than what they've done before, so you can expect the set to lean into that. The songs are built around the same pop rock foundation they've always worked with, but with a shift toward the more reflective side of things.
On stage, the current lineup is Ollie on vocals, Tay Ewart on drums, Pat on bass, and Domenic on guitar. It's a tight four-piece, and the songs are written for that kind of live setup—vocals up front, guitar and bass driving the melody, and the drums holding it all together. The set will pull from Nowhere, At Last and their earlier material, so you'll hear the newer, more grounded stuff alongside the songs that helped them build their name over the last ten years.
