A post-colonial-futuristic literary discussion book club meeting to discuss Wild Horse Shit by Adam Gnade, hosted by Laia.
The Book Club to Remake the World meets at The Shop at MATTER on Wednesday, October 14, for its monthly discussion. This month's pick is Wild Horse Shit by Adam Gnade, and Laia is hosting. The club runs on the second Wednesday of every month, except for December, when it takes a break.
It's framed as a post-colonial-futuristic literary discussion portal, and the goal is to activate the imagination to "reworld" the world. The starting point is the idea that imperial oppression often involves control over language, so the conversations tend to lean into how we talk about and imagine the future. It's part of The Shop at MATTER's broader Book Clubs collection, and the hosting duties rotate among a different cast of characters each month.
