British electronic music producer Bonobo performs live from his Distance in Static album on the North American Tour at the Mission Ballroom.
Bonobo plays Mission Ballroom on Thursday, November 19, at 8 PM. The show is part of the Distance in Static Live North American Tour, and he's touring his new album, Distance in Static.
Bonobo is the stage name of Simon Green, a British musician, producer, and DJ who's become a defining voice in electronic music. He's put out two UK Top 5 albums, Migration and Fragments, and has worked with Erykah Badu and Damon Albarn. Along the way, he's picked up multiple BRIT and GRAMMY nominations. The Denver date is one stop on the North American run for the new record, so you'll hear the new material live.
His sound sits at the crossroads of jazz, trip-hop, electronica, downtempo, and nu jazz. It's the kind of music that doesn't fit neatly into one box, pulling from a few different electronic and organic traditions at once. If you've followed his work, you know he tends to lean into the atmospheric side of things, and Distance in Static continues that.
