Concert by the Colorado rock band Big Head Todd and The Monsters, with support from Isaac Slade.
Big Head Todd and The Monsters play the Fillmore Auditorium on Saturday, November 28, with Isaac Slade opening. It's a homecoming of sorts for a band that's been a fixture of the Colorado scene for decades, having played across the state since they formed in the late 1980s.
The quartet — Todd Park Mohr on vocals, guitar, keys, sax, and harmonica; Brian Nevin on drums; Rob Squires on bass and vocals; and Jeremy Lawton on keyboards, lap steel, and vocals — has stayed together for nearly forty years. They jammed in high school in the early 1980s and took the name in 1986. They broke out with the platinum-certified Sister Sweetly in 1993, which produced four top-10 rock radio hits, and followed it with "Boom Boom," recorded with John Lee Hooker, on 1997's Beautiful World.
Over the years they've toured and recorded with B.B. King, Neil Young, The Allman Brothers, Dave Matthews Band, The Eagles, and Robert Plant. They've headlined Red Rocks Amphitheatre 35 times and were inducted into the Colorado Music Hall of Fame in 2023. Their latest album, Her Way Out, grew out of their Monster's Music Monthly online series.
