Between Dreams by Jon Koenigsberg

Koenigsberg works in abstract oil and cold wax, and the title Between Dreams points right to where the work comes from. He describes it as that vague, fuzzy, gray time between sleep and wakefulness—the liminal space before you've fully drifted off or fully woken up. He says, 'I often find myself lost in between the rhythm of sleep and wakefulness... Occasionally, during those times between dreams, images come to me, but more often than not, what I paint is more the feelings that come to me between dreams.' That's the thread that holds the show together: the colors, patterns, and textures are meant to reflect that half-awake state, and the whole thing is about the thin line between dreams and reality.

If you're looking for a specific night to go, there are two good options. The artist reception was Friday, September 25, from 6 to 9 PM, and the gallery is also open during the First Friday Art Walk on October 2, from 5 to 9 PM. Both are good chances to see the work when the space is lively.
