Evening of conversation with the Macbeth creative team and cast, moderated by Barbara Lynne Jamison, presented by Opera Colorado.
Opera Colorado is bringing the people behind their production of Macbeth to The Chambers Grant Salon on Wednesday, October 21, for a conversation about the opera. It's a pre-opening-night event, so it falls just before the full production hits the stage, and it's designed to take you behind the scenes of Verdi's version of the story.
Artistic Director and CEO Ellie Caulkins moderates the session. She'll be talking with members of the Macbeth creative team and the cast, who will share their take on the music, the characters, and the creative process that goes into a production like this. They'll also talk through the artistic vision they're using to bring the drama to life, so you'll get a sense of how they're approaching the material before you see the actual performance.
If you're planning to see the opera, this is a good way to get some context first. Hearing the people who built the show talk about their choices—the music, the characters, and the vision—gives you a different way to watch it when the curtain finally goes up. It's a chance to hear the inside story from the people who are actually on stage and behind the scenes.
