Denver Choir League presents a choral concert of songs of light, peace, and harvest, featuring guest singer-songwriter Nina De Freitas.
Denver Choir League brings Abundance: Songs of Light, Peace, and Harvest to the Oriental Theater on Sunday, October 18. It's a choral concert built around the literal harvest and the internal bounty of peace, light, and joy, and it's part of the League's current concert cycle.
The program pulls from a few different directions. You'll hear Neil Young classics Harvest Moon and Harvest alongside Crowded Table by The Highwomen, and Light by India.Arie. There's also All Seems Beautiful to Me by Eric Whitacre, So Let Us Create by The Podd Brothers, and traditional Estonian harvest songs. Guest singer-songwriter Nina De Freitas is on the bill, and she'll be performing an original work of her own.
That mix of American folk favorites, new classics, and Estonian tradition is exactly what the League means when they talk about the harvest—the seasonal one and the one they're cultivating inside. The whole cycle is sold out, so this is the one to keep on your radar.
