A community workshop celebrating Día de Los Muertos with a construction project, ofrenda, dance and more activities at CSU Spur.
CSU Spur is hosting a Día de Los Muertos community workshop on Saturday, October 10, from 10 AM to 2 PM. It's part of their 2nd Saturday series, a free, family-friendly session they put on every second Saturday of the month, presented by Canvas Credit Union. This month's theme is Día de Los Muertos, and the session is built around a community workshop that combines a few different traditions: there's a construction project you can work on, an ofrenda, and dance, among other things. It's the kind of thing you can drop into with kids or friends and just hang out for a while.
If you haven't spent much time there, the venue itself is worth a look. CSU Spur belongs to Colorado State University and is built around three buildings—Vida, Terra, and Hydro—which you can explore on guided tours led by CSU Spur volunteers. The tours run alongside the programming, so you can wander through the buildings and see what's going on inside when you're not working on the workshop projects.

One thing to keep in mind is that the 2nd Saturday sessions change every month. This one is centered on Día de Los Muertos, and the theme for the following month will be announced later, so if you miss this one, there's another chance to come back and see what they're doing next. All the programs at the Spur are free and open to the public unless otherwise noted, and this one is no exception. It runs from 10 AM to 2 PM on Saturday, October 10, at CSU Spur in Denver, and admission is free.
