A free outdoor evening series featuring live music, film screenings, and after-hours access to the Nasher Sculpture Center's galleries and sculpture garden.
'til Midnight returns to the Nasher Sculpture Center on Friday, May 15, from 6 PM to 11:59 PM. It's a free, once-a-month outdoor series in the heart of the Dallas Arts District, usually held on the third Friday of the month, and this one pairs live music and a film screening under the stars with after-hours access to the museum's galleries of contemporary and modern art and its outdoor sculpture garden, which the Nasher describes as a peaceful place for a meditative walk.
The music kicks off at 6 PM with a DJ set by Richy Smart, followed at 7 PM by Pierce Washington, who plays conscious hip-hop. At 8:15 PM, Carter Ace takes over with hip-hop and funk, and then at 9:15 PM, the film Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986, PG-13) plays on the big screen. Between the sets, you can wander through the galleries and the sculpture garden, so you don't have to stay in one spot all night.
Food and drink are handled by Wolfgang Puck Catering, with a rotating menu of snacks and sweets and bar service throughout the evening; members get two complimentary beverages. The series is made possible by The Eugene McDermott Endowment Fund, with additional support from the Rea Charitable Trust and the Texas Commission on the Arts, and promotional support from CultureMap, D Magazine and KXT 91.7, which also curates a Spotify playlist to go along with the nights.
