Weekly stand-up comedy open mic night for emerging comedians at the Dallas Comedy Club.
The DCC Sunday Open Mic is back at Dallas Comedy Club on Sunday, October 11. It's a weekly open mic night for stand-up comedians, and it's one of the club's regular fixtures.
If you're not familiar with how an open mic works, it's where comics go to test out new material. You'll hear a mix of seasoned pros trying out a few new bits and newer faces getting their first minutes on stage. Because it's an open mic, the lineup changes every week and the sets are usually short, so you get a wide variety of styles and voices in a single night rather than one long headliner. It's a good way to see where the local scene is at and catch people working through their latest ideas.
It's also worth knowing what else the club has going on, because this isn't their only thing. Alongside the open mic, they run a recurring stand-up showcase called Purvis Wilson: Funniest Stand-up in Dallas, which works like a competition with qualifier, semifinal, and championship rounds. They've got a full improv program too, including long-form improv grad shows, an Improv Jam, and free improv shows. And they stage stand-up showcases by local comics like Jalen Hinton, Hannah Jones, AJ Wilkerson, and Rosebud Baker.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Dallas and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.
