Open mic night for aspiring comedians to practice their material on stage at the Dallas Comedy Club, with five-minute sets and an age limit of 18 and up.
The DCC Sunday Open Mic is back at the Dallas Comedy Club on Sunday, December 27, 2026. It's one of those rooms where the whole point is the process: aspiring comedians get to road-test new material in front of a live audience, which means you're hearing jokes in their rawest form, long before they ever make it to a polished special.
The format is straightforward. Every comic gets a five-minute set, and the night is hosted by Darcy Christ. Because it's an open mic, the lineup isn't set in advance—it's built on the fly. In-person sign-ups start as soon as the doors open, so the order of who goes when depends on who shows up first. That's the nature of the thing: you'll see a mix of people at different stages of their act, some working through a few new lines and others trying out an entirely new direction.
If you've ever wondered how a stand-up set actually comes together, this is where it happens. You get to see the trial-and-error part of the craft—the jokes that land, the ones that don't, and the adjustments made in real time. It's less about a curated show and more about the work of building a set from the ground up.
