The Black Sugar Comedy Show

The Black Sugar Comedy Show is at the Dallas Comedy Club on Friday, October 9, with Payton Payne hosting. It's a mixed bill that brings together stand-up comedians, sketch artists, and storytellers on one stage, so you'll get a few different styles of comedy in one night rather than just a line of people taking turns at the mic.

Payne has built the show around a specific point of view: sharp observational humor and storytelling that looks at everyday life and cultural topics from a fresh angle. That's the core of what the show does, and it's what it's known for. The mix of stand-up, sketch, and storytelling means the night moves through different formats, so it doesn't just feel like one long set.

The show is held in the Club Theater, one of the rooms inside the Dallas Comedy Club. It's an intimate space built for live comedy, the kind of room where you're close to the stage and the performers can actually see the crowd. If you prefer a direct connection with the people on stage over a big, distant theater, this is the right room for it.

One thing to keep in mind before you head out: this is an 18+ event, so make sure everyone in your group is of age. The show starts at 7 PM on Friday, October 9, at the Dallas Comedy Club's Club Theater.
