Festival of original horror films from independent Texas filmmakers, presented by Texas Horror Cult.
Texas Horror Cult is bringing its film festival to The Texas Theatre on Monday, October 26. It's a showcase of original horror films made by independent filmmakers from across Texas, with each one offering its own take on the genre. The whole thing is presented by Texas Horror Cult, the group behind the festival.
Because it's a festival of independent work, you're seeing films from people working across the state rather than a single studio's slate. The organizers describe it as a collection of original horror films from independent Texas filmmakers, each with their own terrifying take on the screen. The idea is to experience them together on the big screen, and the festival is open to all ages, so it's not just for the late-night crowd.

The Texas Theatre is at 231 W. Jefferson Blvd in Dallas, and the night runs on a Monday, so keep that in mind if you're planning your week around it. Doors open at 6:30 PM, and the show starts at 8:00 PM. If you're coming from outside the neighborhood, that hour and a half between doors and showtime gives you plenty of room to get settled before the first film rolls.
