Sarah Wyatt's Level 5 Long Form Improv Grad Show

Sarah Wyatt's Level 5 Long Form Improv students are taking the stage at Dallas Comedy Club on Sunday, October 11, for their graduation show. It's the final performance of the course, the one that marks the end of the class before these students move on to professional work.

Long form improv is a different beast from the short-game stuff you might be used to. Instead of quick-fire games with set rules, the performers take a single suggestion and build an entire night of connected scenes and characters around it. It's more about the slow burn and the callbacks than the punchline, and since this is a Level 5 class, these students have spent the term working their way up to this specific format.

The students on the bill are Billy Betsill, Chris Decker, Ellie Porterfield, Emily Chang, Erin Jay, and Sean Cain. They've been working under Sarah Wyatt, who's the instructor for the course and the one who'll be seeing them through to the end of the term. Joining them on stage are Cameron Carter, Gabo Espinoza, Kenny Severson, and Sajid Chowdhury.

Because it's a graduation show, there's a bit more on the line than your average Sunday night set. This is the final step of the class, the one they've been building toward all term, and it's the last time they'll be performing together as a cohort before they head out on their own. If you've been following the Dallas improv scene, it's a good chance to see where these performers are at before they start popping up in other shows around town.

It's a Sunday afternoon show, so you can catch it and still have your whole evening. The show starts at 4:45 PM at the Dallas Comedy Club, and tickets are $18.40.
