A family-centered summit with interactive workshops on budgeting, saving, credit, investing, insurance, and long-term planning.
Relay Heroes Today Leaders Tomorrow is hosting its third annual Relay Family Financial Literacy Summit (FINLIT) on Saturday, November 7, at Dallas College Mountain View. It's a free, family-centered day that runs from 9 AM to 2 PM, and it's built around the idea that financial education should be practical for everyone, from middle school students up through adults.
The morning is structured around interactive family breakout sessions and expert-led workshops. The topics cover a lot of ground: budgeting, credit and loans, debt management, scholarships and college financing, student loans, identity theft, generational wealth, and long-term financial planning. There are also local exhibitors on site. Because the sessions are broken out, you can focus on the areas that actually matter to your family's situation rather than sitting through a one-size-fits-all presentation.
Relay Heroes Today Leaders Tomorrow has been running since 2017, founded by Dr. Lottia Fredo with a focus on helping people get college-ready and financially literate. The summit usually draws around 200 people from across the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, and the goal is to give individuals and families concrete steps they can take toward better financial capability and long-term well-being. It's less about abstract theory and more about the day-to-day mechanics of managing money.
