Pilobolus dance company presents Trips, a gravity-defying dance experience, at the Moody Performance Hall.
Pilobolus is coming to Moody Performance Hall on Friday, November 6, with the show Trips. They're playing two nights in a row, so if Friday doesn't work, there's a second performance on Saturday, November 7. Both run from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM.
If you're not familiar with the name, Pilobolus is one of those dance companies that's hard to pin down. It was started by three college students—Moses Pendleton, Jonathan Wolken and Steve Johnson—who built a style around gravity-defying feats and physical poetry. They've spent decades as the original rule breakers of the dance world, and while plenty of other companies have tried to imitate them, they're still the ones who started it. The Dallas stop is presented by TITAS/DANCE UNBOUND in association with the AT&T Performing Arts Center.
Trips is a continuous voyage through movement, imagination and infinite realities. Gravity-defying feats and emotional landscapes run as one seamless adventure, with explosive athleticism, physical poetry and sly humor, all led by an intergalactic captain sailing through the Pilobolus multiverse. It's less a series of separate dances and more a single, flowing trip. Charles Santos, the Artistic Director of TITAS/DANCE UNBOUND, describes the company as the original rule breaker and says a Pilobolus show is more than a performance—it's an experience that requires you to be in the room.

For this visit, though, the focus is Trips at Moody Performance Hall, 2520 Flora St, Dallas, TX 75201. Both the Friday and Saturday shows run from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM.
