Outdoor open-air cinema screening of Addams Family Values and The Rocky Horror Picture Show as part of the Downtown Dallas October Movie Nights series.
October Movie Nights are taking over Main Street Garden Park for five Friday nights this month, turning the garden into an open-air cinema as a countdown to Halloween. It's presented by Downtown Dallas, Inc., and the whole series is free.
The lineup spans four decades of spooky cinema, and it doesn't stick to one lane. It kicks off with The Witches (1990) on October 2, followed by Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1992) on October 9 and Poltergeist (1982) on October 16. The 23rd is the only night with two films: Addams Family Values (1993) at 6:45 PM and The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975) at 8:30 PM. The series wraps up on October 30 with It (2017).
That range is the point. You've got horror, camp, and the supernatural all in one month, and the films stretch from an early '80s haunted house to a more recent nightmare. The double feature on the 23rd is the only night you'll get two movies back-to-back, so that's the one to plan for if you're staying late.
