Top teams from around the world compete in the high-stakes Swiss stage format of the 2026 League of Legends World Championship.
League of Legends Worlds 2026 is coming to the Credit Union of Texas Event Center in Allen, with the Swiss Stage running from October 23 to 31. This is the sixteenth edition of Riot Games' annual international tournament, and the fifth time the United States has hosted. It's a first for Texas, tooβthe first World Championship ever held in the state. The whole thing kicked off in Los Angeles, where the play-in stage ran from October 15 to 18 at the Riot Games Arena.
The Swiss Stage is the final sorting ground of the tournament, where the top teams from around the world face off to see who moves on. The field has grown to 19 teams this year, and the tournament is expected to use the 'Fearless Draft' format: once a champion is played by either team, it's unavailable for the rest of the series. Defending champions T1 arrive as three-time world winners.
This stretch is also a first for the venue. The Swiss Stage, quarterfinals, and semifinals are all being held in a single city and venue for the first time. The knockout rounds follow from November 3 to 8, also in Allen, before the final moves to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on November 14.
