Film screening of Alfred Hitchcock's suspense thriller Rear Window as part of the Hitchcocktober series at the Angelika Film Center & Café.
Angelika Film Center & Café is screening Rear Window on Wednesday, October 14, at 7 PM. It's part of Hitchcocktober, a monthlong series the cinema is running throughout October, so if you're a fan of the master of suspense, this is one of several chances to catch his work on the big screen. Other titles on the program include Suspicion, Vertigo, and Psycho.
Rear Window is one of Hitchcock's most famous efforts: a crackling suspense film written by John Michael Hayes and starring James Stewart and Grace Kelly. Stewart plays L.B. Jeffries, a photojournalist confined to his apartment with a broken leg. Stuck inside, he spends his time staring through the rear window at the courtyard across the way, and he becomes convinced a neighbor has murdered his wife. It's a movie that works because it puts you right there with him, watching the same things he's watching, and wondering if he's actually seeing something or just letting his imagination run wild.
