A free improv comedy show featuring the troupes face down funnies and Bag of Dad at the Dallas Comedy Club.
face down funnies and Bag of Dad are taking the stage at the Dallas Comedy Club on Thursday, December 10, for a free improv show. It's a double bill, so you'll get two different troupes in one night, and since it's improv, nothing is scripted—everything you see is made up on the spot.
face down funnies is a long-form improv troupe that's been around since 2023. Long-form means they aren't just doing quick games; they take a suggestion and build a whole scene or a series of connected sketches around it, letting the story stretch out and evolve as they go. Bag of Dad brings a different energy to the bill—they describe themselves as a grounded, wacky improv team of four comedians: Kimber Martin, Lauren Oxford, Kent Wicklander, and Sarah Wyatt. They work as a tight group, making it up as they go.
Between the two, you'll get a good look at how different improv can be. One troupe leans into the long-form style, while the other is a four-person team that keeps things grounded even when they get weird. And because it's all improvised, no two shows ever end up the same way.
