Four Day Weekend

Four Day Weekend is on every Friday and Saturday night at their own comedy club in Lower Greenville, and if you've never been, it's a good place to start with improv. The troupe describes the show as Whose Line Is It Anyway? meets Saturday Night Live, and that's a fair way to frame it: it's fast, it's built on the fly, and it doesn't take itself too seriously.

The whole thing runs 105 minutes and is built entirely around audience suggestions and participation. Nothing is scripted, so the set changes every single night depending on what the crowd throws at them. That's the thing about improv—you're watching the performers make it up in real time, and since the audience provides the prompts, you're part of the material. It's a different kind of night out than a stand-up set, where the comedy comes from the group reacting to each other and to you.

Four Day Weekend is an award-winning improv troupe and the longest-running show in the Southwest. They started in Fort Worth before expanding to Dallas and moving into their Lower Greenville home in 2018. The club has been voted Best Comedy Club and named Best Entertainment Experience in Texas. Beyond the stage, they run improv classes and corporate workshops, drawing on more than 25 years of experience helping companies improve communication, collaboration, and creativity through improvisation. They also published the national bestseller Happy Accidents.

The club is at 5601 Sears St in Lower Greenville—behind Trader Joe's and across from Truck Yard—so it's easy to pair with dinner or drinks in the neighborhood. Tickets are $30 plus service fees and tax, and shows run every Friday and Saturday night.
