Exavier's Stand-up MVP's!

Exavier Poole is putting together a stand-up showcase at the Dallas Comedy Club on Saturday, October 17, and he's hand-picking the lineup himself. It's called Exavier's Stand-up MVP's!, and the whole thing runs out of the Club Theater inside the venue at 3036 Elm Street.

If you aren't familiar with Poole, he's a regular in the local scene. He hosts the Wednesday night open mic at the Dallas Comedy Club, which is one of those roles that puts you right in the middle of the city's comedy circuit—you see who's working on what and who's actually landing. He performs stand-up on stages across the DFW area, and he's also out there with The Trap Nerds Podcast on the Black Effect Podcast Network, alongside Charlamagne tha God and iHeartRadio. That's why the "hand-picked" part of the bill matters: he's spending his week watching the local comics, so the lineup he pulls together for this one is coming from that. The show is for ages 18 and up.

The venue itself is a Dallas staple. The Dallas Comedy Club has been voted Best Comedy Club in Dallas four years in a row, and this showcase takes place in the Club Theater, which is the main room. It's right in the heart of the city at 3036 Elm Street, so it's an easy spot to get to if you're already downtown.
