NBA basketball game between the Dallas Mavericks and the Orlando Magic played at the Cosm venue in The Colony's Grandscape.
Dallas Mavericks take on the Orlando Magic at Cosm on Wednesday, December 2, in a matchup that's about as much about the venue as it is the game. If you're not familiar, Cosm is the immersive tech and media company that's been rolling out these shared reality spaces across the country, and the Dallas one is over at The Colony's Grandscape. It's a long-term partnership with the NBA that runs through 2030 and beyond, so this isn't a one-off—it's part of a whole new way the league is broadcasting games.
Here's the part that actually matters: the format. Instead of a standard screen, the game is projected onto an 87-foot-diameter, 12K+ LED dome. The production uses specialized cameras to give you arena-style views from angles you'd never get on a normal broadcast—think behind the bench or right under the rim. It's designed to feel like you're in the building even when you're not, and since it's a dome, the action wraps around you rather than sitting flat on a wall. It's a shared experience, so you're watching it with a crowd of other fans in the room, not alone on your couch.

Cosm has been expanding since it first launched, with the Los Angeles venue at Hollywood Park opening in July 2024 and this Dallas spot following at Grandscape. There are more coming, too—three more venues in Atlanta, Detroit, and Cleveland are slated for 2026 and 2027. The Los Angeles venue in Inglewood is also set to be a marquee destination during NBA All-Star activities in February 2026, so the league is leaning into this as a permanent part of the calendar, not just a novelty. The Dallas Mavericks vs. Orlando Magic game on December 2 is one of the dates on that schedule.
