Stand-up comedy show featuring New York City comedian Marcus Monroe at the Dallas Comedy Club.
Marcus Monroe brings his stand-up to the Dallas Comedy Club on Thursday, October 15. He's a New York City comedian, and his set is built around high-energy banter and a deliberate sense of awkwardness that he leans into throughout the night. If you've seen his clips, you know the vibe: he works the room, plays with the crowd, and lets the tension sit just a beat longer than most comics would.
Monroe has spent plenty of time on the New York circuit. He's a regular at the Comedy Cellar and has appeared on The Late Show and Late Night with Seth Meyers, as well as ITV in London. He's also known for a series of viral videos where he films stand-up on the NYC subway while playing a string of different characters. The Andy Kaufman Award is one of the honors he's picked up along the way, and the New York Times has named him a critics' pick four times, calling him one of the most entertaining performers to watch in the city.
Beyond the clubs, he's put together a one-man show, The Rise and Fall of Marcus Monroe, which debuted at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival to rave reviews and earned the Evening Standard's 'Pick of the Fringe.' He also co-hosts the Boy Friends Podcast with fellow comedians Corey B and Matt Lopes.
