A haunting new ballet by Sam Jones, filled with shadows, masks, and transformation, presented by Ballet North Texas.
Ballet North Texas brings Changeling to Moody Performance Hall on Friday, October 23 and Saturday, October 24, with both performances starting at 8 PM. It's a mixed repertory program, which means you get three different pieces in one night rather than a single full-length ballet. The evening runs about an hour and 50 minutes, including a 20-minute intermission.
The title piece, Changeling, is choreographed by Sam Jones and returns to the company's stage for this program. It's set in a world where identity shifts and illusion takes hold, and the company describes it as a haunting work built on mystery, tension, and theatrical beauty. That mood carries through the rest of the bill: Nicolina Lawson's Crimson is set to music by Anthony Costarella, and Alayna Wong contributes a new work. Lisa Miller handles the lighting for the whole evening.
If you're looking for a single night, either the Friday or Saturday show works. If you want to see more of the company's season, they offer subscriptions in three, four, or five performance packages, which come with perks like preferred seating and discounts on additional tickets.
