Alan Lake Factori(e) brings its contemporary dance work Orpheus to Dallas as part of the TITAS/Dance Unbound series.
Alan Lake Factori(e) returns to Dallas on Friday, February 5 and Saturday, February 6, 2027, at Moody Performance Hall. They're bringing Orpheus, a dance work that takes the ancient myth of Orpheus and Eurydice and uses it to look at the redemptive power of art and what it means to be human. The company builds an immersive world around the story, pulling together image, movement, light, and physical materials into one piece.
If the name sounds familiar, it's because they've played here before. Dallas first met the company in 2023 with Le Cri Des Méduses, which combined visual art and performance. This is a multidisciplinary contemporary dance company founded in 2007 and based in Quebec City, and they've built their reputation on pushing beyond traditional boundaries. Orpheus continues that, moving the focus from the abstract toward a specific story we've known for ages, though they're still working with the same mix of movement and visual elements they're known for.

The shows are part of the TITAS/UNFILTERED series, presented by TITAS/DANCE UNBOUND at the AT&T Performing Arts Center. It's a program of bold, progressive work meant to challenge expectations and spark conversation, and Orpheus fits right into that—taking a classic myth and reworking it into something contemporary. Both performances start at 7:30 PM, so you've got two nights to choose from if you can't make one work. The venue is Moody Performance Hall, 2520 Flora St, Dallas, TX 75201.
