A screening of the 1984 slasher film 'A Nightmare on Elm Street' preceded by the live drag show 'May May's Nightmares' and accompanied by DJ VideoJuice.
The Texas Theatre is pairing a horror classic with a live drag show on Wednesday, October 28. The main feature is Wes Craven's original A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984), the slasher that launched the Freddy Krueger franchise. It runs 91 minutes in English and carries the tagline "I'm your boyfriend now!"
Before the movie, the theater hosts May May's Nightmares, a live drag show. The two parts are held back-to-back, and DJ VideoJuice keeps things moving throughout the night. The drag show is for ages 18 and over only, so if you're bringing anyone younger, they'll have to wait for the screening. Children under 18 are admitted to the movie starting at 9 PM as long as they're with a guardian.
As for the film itself, it's the one that made stars of Heather Langenkamp and Robert Englund and gave Johnny Depp one of his earliest roles. It's a 1984 slasher written and directed by Wes Craven, and it runs just over an hour and a half.
