Dallas theater is in the middle of a big transition, and the 2026-2027 season is the first to run under it. The Dallas Theater Center (DTC) and the AT&T Performing Arts Center (AT&T PAC) are working toward a merger that would combine them into a single organization, with the combined entity expected to launch officially in early 2027. For now, the two are still separate, and the public won't notice any disruption to performances, subscriptions, or memberships while the deal moves through due diligence and fundraising.

At DTC, the new season is also a debut. Enloe/Rose Jaime Castañeda took over as artistic director in the summer of 2026, and this is his first full season at the helm. The lineup runs from September 11 through June 6 and leans hard on new work: three world premieres, a regional premiere, and a fifth production still to be announced. It opens with Reykjavik86, a Cold War thriller directed by Castañeda, followed by The Monsters, a regional premiere about two MMA-fighting brothers. The annual A Christmas Carol returns as an add-on production, and the spring brings Kill Local, a dark comedy musical, and The Making of a Saint, a solo investigative piece starring KJ Sanchez. Subscriptions are available online and through the box office, which runs Tuesday through Saturday.
Over at the AT&T PAC, the Broadway at the Center series keeps the Winspear Opera House busy with touring titles. Mystic Pizza: A New Musical opens the run in late November, followed by Shucked and The Who's Tommy in the spring, with The Wiz closing things out in June. A special add-on performance of Hadestown slots in between. If you're more into dance, the TITAS/DANCE UNBOUND season is the one to watch, with companies like Ballets Jazz Montreal, Pilobolus, Step Afrika!, and Philadanco! rotating through, plus a subscriber add-on featuring the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders.
And if you'd rather catch something outdoors, the Festival Series spreads across the city. The Latinidad Festival and Stage Fright: A Halloween Family Festival both land on the AT&T PAC campus in October, Brass & Jazz in the Park heads over to West Dallas in November, and Blues in the Bottom takes over Oak Cliff over Memorial Day weekend. Between the two centers, there's a show nearly every week from fall through early summer, so the real work is just picking which nights to commit to.
One thing to keep in mind for planning: the two centers aren't in the same place. The Kalita Humphreys Theater, the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed space DTC uses for some of its shows, sits at 2400 Flora Street, while the main AT&T PAC campus is over at 3636 Turtle Creek Blvd. Depending on the show, you could be downtown one night and up in the Turtle Creek area the next, so it's worth double-checking the address before you head out.
