Hands-on DIY workshop at the plant shop Yelo Aple to learn how to repot houseplants and repot a plant of your own.
Yelo Aple is hosting Repotting 101: Get Your Hands Dirty on Sunday, November 1, from 5 PM to 6 PM. It's a practical workshop for houseplant owners whose plants might just need a little help rather than be on their deathbed. The session is built around the basics of repotting, and you'll walk away having actually done it yourself.
The first half is all about the when and the how. You'll learn how to tell when a plant actually needs a new pot, how to pick the right pot and soil for the specific plant you're working with, how to handle the roots without causing damage, and which common repotting mistakes to avoid. Once you've got the theory down, everyone gets their hands dirty and repots a plant of their own. It's a one-hour session, so it's a quick way to get a skill you'll use every time you bring a new plant home or watch an old one outgrow its space.
