A 45-minute condensed version of Holiday Hoopla with comedy sketches and holiday music, served with food and drinks by the performers.
Shadowbox Live opens Holiday Hoopla Lunchbox on December 4, a 45-minute version of their full Holiday Hoopla production. It's a condensed take on what they've billed as Columbus' favorite non-traditional holiday tradition for over 35 years: a lunch of comedy sketches and holiday music. The performers serve the food and drinks themselves, so you're eating and watching at the same time.
Shadowbox Live is the nation's largest resident theatre ensemble, and they're the ones staging the show and crafting the menu that goes with it. They've been based in Columbus since 1988, known for high-energy performances that mix sketch comedy, music tribute, musicals, dance-theatre, and metamediaβa genre-shifting, mixed-arts style they call 'SBX Live.' The venue is in the heart of the Brewery District, a historic neighborhood just south of downtown, and every show is paired with art in their curated galleries.

Because this is the Lunchbox version, it's a shorter format than the full production, which makes it an easier mid-day drop-in if you can't commit to a full evening. The company also runs an 'Art for All' pay-what-you-can option on the first two Thursday performances of each production, with a minimum of $20. The show opens December 4 at Shadowbox Live, 503 S Front St, Columbus, OH 43215.
