A not-so-spooky Halloween storytime for families with stories, songs and activities, with costumes encouraged.
Columbus Metropolitan Library is hosting a Halloween Family Storytime at the Main Library on Friday, October 30, from 10:30 to 11:00 AM. It's a not-so-spooky session, so it's geared toward families with little ones rather than anything that'll keep them up at night.
The library will share stories, sing festive songs, and run other fun activities throughout the half hour. Costumes are encouraged, so if you've already got the kids dressed up for the holiday, this is a good place to let them show it off. It's a short session—just thirty minutes—which is about as long as a toddler's attention span usually lasts anyway.
One thing that's worth knowing is that the session is built for the library's youngest visitors. They've tailored the activities for families with children in three different age brackets: birth to 18 months, 18 to 36 months, and 3 to 6 years. So whether you're coming with a baby, a toddler, or a preschooler, there's something in there that fits. It's a good way to get them into the library early on, too.

The storytime is part of the Columbus Metropolitan Library's wider Holiday and Halloween program for families, so it's one of several things they're putting on around the city this time of year. You'll find it at the Main Library, 96 South Grant Avenue, Columbus, OH 43215, on Friday morning, October 30, from 10:30 to 11:00 AM.
