Italian cooking class at Quinci Emporium to prepare fall gnudi and Tuscan almond cookies.
Quinci Emporium is hosting a cooking class on Wednesday, October 28, focused on two Italian classics: fall gnudi and Tuscan almond cookies. It's a double-header of a session, so you'll walk away with both a savory dish and a sweet one. Gnudi are essentially the filling of ravioli—ricotta and spinach—shaped into little dumplings and cooked without the pasta wrapper, and the almond cookies are a traditional Tuscan treat. You'll make both in one go.
Quinci Emporium is an Italian cooking school, culinary market, and wine shop in the Short North, and they run their classes right there in their kitchen and retail shop. They release their schedule of classes and events every few months throughout the year, so this is one of the sessions they've put on the calendar for the fall. If you're already in the neighborhood, it's easy to find at 11 Buttles Ave, right in the heart of the Short North.
Since it's a cooking class, you'll be working through the recipes on-site. You'll get to see how the gnudi come together and how the cookies are put together, and you'll leave with the knowledge to make them both at home. It's a good way to pick up a couple of Italian recipes in one afternoon.
