Special EFX All-Stars return to Middle C Jazz with their The Hits 2026 tour, featuring Chieli Minucci.
Special EFX featuring Chieli Minucci are back at Middle C Jazz on Friday, November 13, as part of their The Hits 2026 tour. It's a return to the venue for the Special EFX All-Stars, with guitarist, composer, producer, and arranger Chieli Minucci fronting the group.
Minucci has led Special EFX for more than 40 years, and the group is a Grammy-nominated jazz-fusion outfit that's built a presence on the jazz and world music scenes. The tour takes its name from The Hits, a 14-song collection of remastered favorites and new songs he released. It's a retrospective that pulls from his catalog, and the set should reflect that mix of older material and newer work.
Beyond the group, Minucci has a long career as a composer for film. He's won three Emmy Awards and written for movies like No Country for Old Men, Legally Blonde, and Panic. He's also performed alongside artists like Celine Dion, Lionel Richie, and Jennifer Lopez.
