South Charlotte Zip Codes TreeAdoption 2027

TreesCharlotte is holding another TreeAdoption on Saturday, January 30, 2027, at 701 Tuckaseegee Road in Charlotte. It's one of those events that's easy to miss if you aren't looking for it, but if you've been wanting to get some trees in your yard, this is how you do it. They're giving trees away to Mecklenburg County residents in specific zip codes, so check that your area is covered before you make the trip.

There's a good mix of species to choose from, ranging from small flowering trees to canopy-builders and evergreen screening. Whether you're looking for something that'll bloom in the spring or a tall tree to shade your porch, you'll find a few options to pick from. One thing to keep in mind: these are for your own yard, not for resale. Selling them or using them for profit is strictly prohibited, and doing so will get you banned from future TreesCharlotte events and adoptions. There's also a cap on how many you can take over time—if you've already adopted more than 20 trees through their events, you're no longer eligible to participate.

Registration is required, and that's the part you'll want to set a reminder for. It opens on Friday, January 22, at 10 AM and closes when the trees sell out or at 11:59 PM on Thursday, January 28. You can register for a maximum of two trees per registration, so if you're planning on planting a couple, you're set. And before you head home with your new trees, everyone has to go through a planting demonstration—they'll show you how to get them in the ground the right way so they actually take.

TreesCharlotte is a nonprofit that relies on donations to host these adoptions and give trees to Charlotte residents, so the whole thing is built on people chipping in. The adoption runs from 8:30 AM to 11 AM at 701 Tuckaseegee Road, Charlotte, NC 28208.
