In-person classes taught by local experts at Urban District Market, including novel writing, cookie decorating, and more.
Skillpop is running its in-person classes at Urban District Market on Tuesday, October 6, as part of a regular schedule that runs Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday each week. The sessions are adults-only and held in the market's private event space, so you're in a dedicated room rather than out on the main floor. While you're there, you can pick up food and drinks from the market, which makes it easy to grab a snack or a drink before or after your class.
The classes are taught by local experts, and the range is wide enough that you can come back on different nights without repeating yourself. Novel writing is one of the staples, where you work on your manuscript with someone who knows the craft. Cookie decorating is another, and there are others in the mix—the full list changes, so it's worth checking the current offerings if you're looking for something specific. Because they're in-person, you're learning side-by-side with other people in the room rather than through a screen.
Since the classes run three nights a week, you can fit one into your schedule without having to clear an entire evening. They all run from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM, two hours that take you from the end of the workday into the evening. If you're interested in more than one topic, you can stack them across the week—say, writing on Monday and decorating on Tuesday—and still be home by mid-evening.
