A 4K screening of The Rocky Horror Picture Show with a live shadow cast and costume contest, hosted by original cast member Barry Bostwick.
Scarolina is taking over the Carolina Theatre for the month of October, turning the venue into a celebration of the strange and macabre. It's a five-night series that pairs psychological horror and cult classics with live experiences, and Programming Director Ben Klein describes them as the kind of nights you can't stream or recreate at home.
The lineup starts with a screening of Hereditary (2018) on Saturday, Oct 10, at 7 PM. On Friday, Oct 16, the theatre shows Obsession (2026), also at 7 PM. Saturday, Oct 17, brings The Rocky Horror Picture Show Spooktacular Tour at 8 PM, with original cast member Barry Bostwick—the original Brad Majors—joining the audience for a 4K screening that includes a live shadow cast and a costume contest. Friday, Oct 23, is a different kind of night: live psychic readings with Matt Fraser, billed as "America's Top Psychic Medium," starting at 8 PM.
The month closes on Saturday, Oct 31, with the Carrie Prom, a prom-style mixer hosted by Gather & Groove and DJ Teejay Suave that kicks off at 6 PM. That leads into a 9 PM screening of Carrie (1976) marking the film's 50th anniversary. Between the screenings, the live shadow cast, the psychic readings, and the prom, there's a fair amount to choose from if you only have a few free nights.
