Grammy-winning Mexican guitar duo Rodrigo y Gabriela perform live at The Underground as part of their OurHome Tour.
Rodrigo y Gabriela play The Underground on Saturday, October 17, as part of their OurHome tour. The duo is Rodrigo Sánchez and Gabriela Quintero, a Grammy-winning Mexican guitar pair who've spent more than two decades pushing the acoustic guitar into new territory by blending classical, rock, metal, cinematic atmosphere and spiritual exploration. They started out busking on Dublin's Grafton Street and went on to win a GRAMMY for Mettavolution and headline stages like Glastonbury, the Hollywood Bowl, Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Royal Albert Hall, Radio City Music Hall and the Sydney Opera House.
This tour is built around OurHome, a new album they self-produced and inspired by Japan. The record features guests Marty Friedman and Hiromi, and the live set draws from that material. It's the same two guitars they've always worked with, but the songs are coming from this particular place. If you've followed them for a while, you know the sound: two acoustic guitars playing with the energy of a full band, and this tour puts their latest work front and center.
