A 90-minute comedy variety show blending stand-up, improv and beer-inspired segments, hosted by Angie Schultz for Charlotte Craft Beer Week.
Angie Schultz brings Pints & Punchlines to Heist Brewery on Friday, October 23, as part of Charlotte Craft Beer Week. It's a 90-minute comedy variety show, and it's built around the brewery setting: you grab a pint from Heist and watch the show unfold around it.
It's more than just a stand-up set. Schultz blends traditional stand-up with interactive improv built on audience suggestions, and a 'Bad Brewery Review' segment where comedians read aloud some of the internet's most ridiculous brewery reviews. There's plenty of audience interaction and specialty comedy segments mixed in, so the night moves through different formats rather than sticking to one person at a mic.
Schultz created the show exclusively for Charlotte Craft Beer Week, and that beer theme runs through the whole thing. The variety format means the energy shifts throughout the 90 minutes, and the interactive parts bring the crowd into the mix. It's a fast-paced, interactive night that leans into the brewery atmosphere.
